Duino

If you mean Duino on the Gulf of Trieste, there are several excellent small hotels and B&Bs right around the village. Based on current guest ratings, location, and the character of the properties, I’d look at these:

• Hotel Aurora Duino - Best for location & convenience. In the center of Duino, very close to Duino Castle and the Rilke Trail. It currently has a 9.3/10 Booking.com guest score from 500+ reviews.
• Villa Borgo Duino - Best for a peaceful, romantic stay. A smaller property with a garden and pool, about a 5-minute walk from the beach. Current Booking.com score: 9.4/10.
• Hotel Al Pescatore - Best for castle/sea atmosphere. It's right by Duino Castle and close to Spiaggia del Principe, with a restaurant, terrace and parking. Booking.com score: 8.8/10.
• Villa Rilke - Best for a villa-style stay. A quiet property overlooking Duino Castle, with a large park and swimming pool. Booking.com score is around 8.6-8.7/10.
• B&B Porto del Bivio - Best B&B / personal hospitality. Highly regarded for its hosts and breakfast; current Booking.com score is 8.9/10 and Tripadvisor shows 4.7/5.

If I were choosing by trip style

If you want…	Consider

❤️ Romantic & peaceful	Villa Borgo Duino
🌊 Castle + sea + restaurant	Hotel Al Pescatore
🌳 Pool & villa atmosphere	Villa Rilke

My shortlist would be Hotel Aurora, Villa Borgo Duino, and Al Pescatore if you're specifically looking to stay in Duino itself. Booking.com currently identifies those three among its popular Duino properties, while Villa Borgo has the highest of their current guest scores.
