Pompei

---

If you’re staying in Pompei specifically to visit the ruins, I’d focus on hotels that combine a convenient location with strong recent guest feedback. A few stand out:

• HABITA79, Pompeii, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel - Best for a more upscale stay. A stylish 4-star option in the center, about 400 m from the train station and close to the archaeological site. Booking.com currently shows it among the prominent hotels near the ruins.
• Bosco De 'Medici - Resort - Best for a resort experience. A quieter property with a winery, restaurant, pool and outdoor space; Booking.com currently reports a 9.1/10 guest score from over 1,000 reviews.
• Dream House Pompei - Best B&B-style option. Very highly reviewed and within walking distance of the ruins and town center; Tripadvisor currently lists it at 4.8/5.
• Hotel del Sole - Best for location/value. It's directly opposite/very close to the archaeological site, making it particularly convenient if sightseeing is the priority.
• Hotel Vittoria - Best if you want to be right by the Pompeii Scavi side. Booking.com currently reports a 9.2/10 guest score and a location about 500 m from Ancient Pompeii.
• Hotel Villa dei Misteri - A practical choice near the ruins. It's about a 5-10 minute walk from the archaeological area and particularly useful if you want easy access to Pompeii Scavi station.

If it were my shortlist

Hotel	Best for
HABITA79	Upscale/modern stay
Bosco De' Medici	Pool, grounds & relaxing atmosphere
Dream House	Excellent B&B experience
Hotel del Sole	Convenience + value
Hotel Vittoria	Location near the ruins
Villa dei Misteri	Ruins + train access

One important distinction: Pompei is quite small, so I'd choose based on which experience you want, rather than simply picking the highest-rated property. For a romantic/upscale trip, I'd look at HABITA79 or Bosco De' Medici; for one or two nights focused on seeing the ruins, Hotel del Sole, Dream House or Hotel Vittoria make more sense.

If you give me your dates, budget per night, and whether you're traveling as a couple/family, I can narrow this down to 3 specific hotels and check current prices.

Top Recommendations

Hotel	Why it’s highly rated	Location notes	Typical style/amenities
Hotel Forum Pompei	Frequently ranks #1 or near the top on TripAdvisor (≈4.4/5 from 1,400+ reviews); spacious/clean rooms, helpful staff, peaceful garden with citrus trees, good value. Habita79 Pompeii (Tribute Portfolio / MGallery)	Strong modern luxury option with high guest scores (often 9+ /10 or ≈4.4/5); excellent service, design, and facilities. Other Strong Contenders

• Hotel Maiuri Pompei — Convenient walking distance to the site and square; free parking/breakfast; often offers shuttle/tour help.
• Hotel Zeus — Close to the archaeological site with practical amenities (reception, restaurant options).
• Highly rated smaller/B&B options (great for atmosphere or value): B&B PompeiLog, Dream House Pompei, Pompeii Ruins de Charme B&B, Villa Julia (farmhouse-style with citrus/vineyard views), and boutique spots like Casa di Plinio. These often score 9+ /10 for hospitality and cleanliness.

Tips for Choosing

• Closest to the ruins for early entry/avoiding crowds: Hotel Forum, Hotel del Sole, Habita79, and several B&Bs near the gates.
• More resort/peaceful vibe with views: Bosco de’ Medici.
• Budget or character: Look at well-reviewed B&Bs and mid-range 3-stars (Diana, Maiuri, etc.) rather than pure luxury—Pompeii itself has fewer ultra-luxe properties than nearby Sorrento or Naples.
• Book ahead in peak season (spring–early fall). Many offer free or paid parking (valuable) and can help with Vesuvius or guided-site arrangements.
• Always verify latest reviews, exact distance to your preferred entrance, and current prices on Booking.com, TripAdvisor, or the hotel site, as availability and guest feedback change.

Staying in modern Pompei is ideal if your main focus is the ruins (easy early starts and multiple visits). For sea views or Amalfi Coast day trips, some travelers base in Sorrento instead and train in (~30–40 min).
