Sauris (in the Carnic Alps / Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy) is a small, authentic mountain village known for its German-speaking heritage, prosciutto, Lake Sauris, hiking, and skiing. It consists mainly of Sauris di Sotto (lower village, more central services) and Sauris di Sopra (higher, quieter), with the nearby hamlet of Lateis. Accommodations are mostly small, family-run hotels, garnis, and the distinctive albergo diffuso (dispersed hotel) concept rather than large resorts.

Quick tips

• Garni Plueme stands out for consistently exceptional guest feedback on service, cleanliness, comfort, and breakfast.

• Lake-oriented options (NS Suite, Elison) are ideal if views of Lago di Sauris matter most.
• The albergo diffuso model is a highlight of the area if you want to feel part of the village rather than in a conventional hotel.
• Most places are small (limited rooms), so book ahead, especially in peak summer or ski season. Many emphasize local products (Sauris ham, cheeses, homemade baking).

Prices typically start from roughly €100–200+ per night depending on season, room type, and board basis (check current rates on Booking.com or the hotel sites, as they fluctuate). Free parking is common, and many are pet-friendly or ski-convenient.
