Castelmola

---

Castelmola is tiny, so the standout stays are mostly boutique hotels and B&Bs rather than big resorts. Based on current guest ratings, location, and the character of the properties, I’d look at these:

1. Casa Blandano B&B - best for a charming village stay
Right in the historic center, with a very strong 9.3/10 guest score on Booking.com and around 278 reviews. It’s particularly appealing if you want to step out of your door directly into Castelmola’s atmospheric streets.

2. Villa Flavio - best for views + boutique feel
A panoramic boutique property with wellness facilities. Booking.com currently shows an exceptionally high 9.9/10 score, though based on fewer reviews than the larger properties.

3. B&B Al Borgo Medievale - Guest House - best for historic atmosphere/value
Located in the medieval heart of Castelmola. It's a good choice if you want the village experience without paying for a luxury resort. Current Booking.com rating: 8.7/10 from about 485 reviews.

4. Hotel Villa Sonia - best traditional hotel
One of the more established hotel options in Castelmola, with particularly attractive views toward Mount Etna and the surrounding coast. Tripadvisor currently lists it at 4.3/5 from roughly 750 reviews.

5. B&B Casa Bellavista - best budget option with views
A simpler property, but the location gives you the big Castelmola advantage: spectacular views over Taormina, the coast and Etna.

My shortlist

If you want…	Look at…
❤️ Romantic/charming	Casa Blandano
🌋 Views & boutique style	Villa Flavio
🏘️ Medieval-village atmosphere	Al Borgo Medievale
🏨 A conventional hotel	Hotel Villa Sonia
💶 Lower price	Casa Bellavista

One thing to keep in mind: Castelmola is much quieter than Taormina, especially after the day-trippers leave. That's a major reason to stay there rather than simply visit for an afternoon.

If you tell me your dates, budget per night, and whether you want a pool/sea view/parking, I can narrow this to 2-3 specific hotels and check current prices.

Would you like me to narrow this down to boutique-style hotels in Castelmola only, or include luxury Taormina options for comparison?

Hotel Villa Sonia and Casa Blandano B&B are the best hotels in Castelmola if you want to stay directly within this magical, cliffside medieval village. Perched high above Taormina, booking an accommodation in Castelmola provides a much quieter, authentic Sicilian escape with jaw-dropping, unobstructed views of Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea.

Because Castelmola is an intimate, historic village, properties inside the gates are limited but highly charming. Depending on what style of stay you prefer, these are the top choices split between the village itself and the panoramic ridge just below it:

🍋 Luxury Ridge Hotels (Halfway to Taormina)

If you want upgraded luxury resort amenities while remaining right on Castelmola’s doorstep, these properties sit along the dramatic winding road just below the village:

The Vibe: A highly romantic, award-winning boutique hotel built onto the rock face. Highlights: Renowned for out-of-this-world customer service, welcoming guests with Prosecco, and hosting legendary breakfasts and a classic afternoon tea. Good to Know: Positioned right between Taormina and Castelmola. They offer convenient shuttle transfers to help you move between the two towns without needing to drive the cliffside roads yourself.

The Vibe: A bright, snug boutique stay focused heavily on outdoor relaxation. Hotel Villa Sonia, Al Borgo Medievale, and Casa Blandano B&B stand out as the top options in Castelmola itself. Castelmola is a small, picturesque hilltop village above Taormina (Sicily), so lodging choices are limited and many search results mix in nearby Taormina properties.

Top Hotels in Castelmola

Here’s a summary of the strongest performers based on traveler rankings and reviews (Tripadvisor, Booking.com, Trip.com, and similar sites as of recent data):

Some note older-style rooms.
Al Borgo Medievale (also listed as Borgo Medievale)	4.3/5 (Tripadvisor); ~8.6–8.9 elsewhere	Right in the medieval village center near the main square, panoramic views, boutique spa (sauna, hammam/jacuzzi, etc.), excellent hospitality (frequently praised owner/staff like Lorenzo), air-conditioned rooms/suites with terraces	Charming, intimate guest house with medieval/Arthurian theme	Highly recommended for location and service; smaller property.
Casa Blandano B&B	~9.2–9.4/10 (Booking/Trip.com); strong Tripadvisor scores	Central location in the historic village, rooms with terraces/balconies (some sea/city views), spa facilities (hot tub, sauna, steam room), good breakfast, friendly staff	Historic 19th-century B&B	Excellent for immersing in Castelmola’s atmosphere; well-maintained and highly rated for cleanliness/hospitality.

Other Notable Options

• Hotel Panorama di Sicilia — Solid for panoramic Etna and landscape views, but generally lower overall scores (around 3.6/5 on Tripadvisor).
• Venere B&B / The Lemon Tree / Villa Flavio — Higher-rated smaller B&Bs or apartment-style stays with good views, pools (in some cases), or modern touches. These suit those preferring quieter or more independent setups.
• Luxury seekers often look to nearby Taormina (a short drive or shuttle away), such as Belmond Grand Hotel Timeo, San Domenico Palace (Four Seasons), or Villa Sant’Andrea, which frequently appear in broader “Castelmola” searches due to proximity.

Quick Tips

• Views and atmosphere are the main draws here — prioritize rooms with Etna or valley outlooks.
• Castelmola is compact and walkable, with restaurants and sights (castle, piazzas, churches) right nearby. It’s quieter than busy Taormina.
• Prices typically start from roughly €70–150+ per night (depending on season, room type, and inclusions like breakfast); high season (summer) is more expensive. Check current availability and exact rates on Tripadvisor, Booking.com, or hotel sites, as they fluctuate.
• A car is helpful for exploring the area (or use local buses/shuttles), and parking can be limited in the village core.

For the latest availability, photos, and guest photos/reviews, check Tripadvisor’s Castelmola hotels page or the properties’ official sites. Preferences (e.g., pool, spa, modern vs. traditional, budget) can help narrow it further.
