Monte Terminillo

---

If you mean Monte Terminillo itself, rather than hotels in Rieti farther down the mountain, the choice is fairly small. Based on current guest ratings, location, and what each property is suited for:

Hotels worth considering

• Hotel Togo Palace - best all-around hotel option. It’s right in Terminillo, close to Monte Terminillo, and Booking.com currently shows an 8.0/10 guest score from 232 reviews. It has a restaurant and bar, making it convenient if you don't want to drive for meals.

• La Piccola Baita - a good choice for a classic mountain stay. It's well positioned for hiking and skiing, with breakfast, a garden/terrace and ski-pass facilities. Booking.com currently lists it at 7.9/10 from 124 reviews.

• Hotel La Lucciola - a smaller, more traditional mountain hotel. Tripadvisor lists it among the main accommodations directly in Monte Terminillo, with a 3.8/5 rating from 63 reviews.

• Cristallo - potentially interesting for its Pian de' Valli location, but note that current business information says it is temporarily closed, so I wouldn't plan around it without confirming reopening.

If you're open to staying outside the ski area

Rifugio DiVino is particularly highly rated (4.8/5) and is a resort-style property, while Hotel Campo Stella in Leonessa is another well-rated option (4.5/5) if you're happy to stay on the other side of the Terminillo area. Tripadvisor also currently shows A Casa di Gianna B&B at 4.7/5 and Il Giardino di Mary at 4.8/5 among nearby accommodations.

For a first trip, I'd look at Hotel Togo Palace and La Piccola Baita first, particularly if being close to the mountain activities matters.

If you tell me your dates and whether you're going for skiing, hiking, or a romantic weekend, I can narrow it down to 3-4 options and check current prices/availability.

• For boutique romance: La Casa della Rocca and Rifugio DiVino are top picks with panoramic views and refined hospitality.
• For budget-conscious travelers: Relais Villa D’Assio (great value with pools) or B&B La Vela.

⚠️ Things to Keep in Mind

• Seasonal demand: Winter ski season and summer hiking weekends fill quickly — book early.
• Access: Some lodgings are in small villages (Antrodoco, Posta), so check transport if you don’t drive.
• Style trade-offs: Farmstays and B&Bs offer charm but may lack full hotel services (24h reception, spa). Upscale villas provide amenities but at higher cost.

Monte Terminillo (near Rieti in Lazio, Italy) is a small mountain/ski area, so options are limited—mostly 3-star hotels and apartments right on or near the slopes, with stronger higher-rated choices a short drive away in Rieti or nearby villages.

Top options in/near Terminillo (closest to the mountain and ski slopes)

• Hotel Togo Monte Terminillo (Hotel Togo Palace) — Frequently one of the strongest-rated and most popular hotels in Terminillo.
Booking.com score around 8.0 (230+ reviews); TripAdvisor ~3.8/5 (200+ reviews). Excellent location (very close to slopes/trails, often ski-accessible), restaurant/bar known for pizza and Italian food (praised even by Romans), clean/comfortable rooms (some with balconies/mountain views), terrace, and solid staff. Breakfast is available. Best all-rounder for most visitors who want to stay on the mountain.

• Hotel La Piccola Baita — Strong location choice (often listed as #1 best value or most booked on some platforms).
Booking ~7.9 (120+ reviews); TripAdvisor ~3.2–3.3/5. Chalet-style, right by the slopes/trails with panoramic views, friendly staff (high marks), restaurant/pizzeria/bar, and a peaceful mountain atmosphere. Rooms can feel dated/retro or basic, and some guests note the style is more “rustic 1970s–80s.” Good for skiing or hiking if you prioritize position over modern luxury.

• Other on-mountain or very close options: Hotel Ristorante La Lucciola and Hotel Sporting Tre Cime (both ~3.4–3.8 on TripAdvisor) appear regularly but have mixed feedback on updates/comfort. Apartments like La Casina (Booking ~9.3, fewer reviews) or Rifugio Elite Terminillo (high scores with limited reviews) can rate higher for self-catering stays.

Stronger-rated nearby alternative (recommended if you have a car)

• Park Hotel Villa Potenziani (Rieti, ~7–12 km / short drive) — Often the highest-rated “proper” hotel option in the area.
Booking ~8.8 (400+ reviews); TripAdvisor ~4.3/5. Historic 4-star villa set in gardens/park with panoramic views, outdoor pool, restaurant, fitness options, and elegant (period) rooms. Guests praise the setting, staff, breakfast terrace, and overall charm. Ideal if you prefer more facilities and comfort and don’t mind a short drive to the slopes.

Quick tips

• For better facilities, history, and higher scores → Villa Potenziani in Rieti.
